Yes, I'm talking about Social Security Disability and SSI. I was hoping this time was different, as when I first applied in 2016, I went through the entire process, and many appeals, until the final appeal. After the final appeal, I was told reapply because my tremors hadn't yet been affecting me for 12 months yet. So by the time, I did the new application (starting from scratch), My tremors were full force. In March of 2021, I applied and had my SSI phone appointment. She said after the whole interview that SSD denied me based on the fact that my "mild glaucoma" was a known issue. Well, I knew that, but they didn't look any further at my other conditions. So, the SSA worker told me to do a reconsideration, and she would put through the SSI application. And that's just what I did. In June, the status on the website said they were doing a medical review. I kept waiting and waiting to get a letter for one of their doctor's appointments, nothing. Last week, I sent a letter wanting to know my status, also listing out my issues, and ever since I got my wheelchair, a letter from my doctor stating I was disabled because the tremors and leg twitching (which started over a year ago), along with documentation, to SSA. The letter denying me said they only looked at records upto July 1 2021, and my tremors didn't make me disabled.
So, I guess my letter passed this one in the mail, not that the letter will make any difference. Anyway, this is where I'm at. Yes, I will do another appeal, and another one after that if necessary. I emailed my previous lawyer and sent her a note, since she said if I was denied again, she would help me.
The biggest part of this, is that the income from SSD would help William and I move, so I can live in a place that is accessible. Coming up with a security deposit, and being able to pay rent is just out of reach right now.
Thanks for reading.
